    Rockturnal Emissions

Although we're a new act in this area, we have over 60 years of combined musical performing experience. We're called ROCKTURNAL EMISSIONS and we're composed of Deb Rust and me. What makes our duo so special is Deb. She has had to move back into the southern Indiana area to become care tender for her aging parents (actually, her father has since passed away), but, prior to that, she had quite a musical journey. Deb is 52 years old. When she graduated high school, she was one of those people who couldn't wait to leave the small town scene behind. So, she submitted an audition tape and was selected to be lead singer on a cruise line that ran from Tampa to Cozumel for 1.5 years. Deb is also a songwriter, and while in Florida, she signed a recording contract with Hurricane Records. However, Deb always wanted to try her hand at Broadway. So, she moved to New York City and began performing singing and dancing roles on Broadway. While in NYC, she happened to catch the ear of Marty Balin, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame guitarist with The Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship, and The Marty Balin Band. Marty invited her to accompany him to California to audition for a position as a backup singer with the Airplane. The tryout was successful, and, Deb joined the band. She performed and toured in this capacity until she had to return to this area. By a stroke of luck, our paths crossed and we've begun rehearsing to perform as much as possible around the area while she's here. I accompany Deb on acoustic guitar, electric guitar, harmonica, and background vocals. All it takes is someone to listen to Deb's voice once to recognize what a fantastic singer and performer she is. We began performing in the tri-state area New year’s Eve and are quickly becoming established as a dynamic, high energy duo. We recently competed in the Owensboro’s Got Talent competition to get some local exposure and placed 2nd out of 45 entrants.

  • Arnie and Eleanor

    Arnie & Eleanor

Two California ex-patriots who grew up in the time of Rock and Roll, the Bop, the Vietnam War, Flower Children and Folk Songs. Eleanor is a retired Registered Nurse who moved to KentucKy. in 2000 to be near her daughter and granddaughters. Arnie is a retired School Administrator who moved here in 2010 after the loss of his beloved wife of 39 years to be near his daughter, son in-law and two grandchildren. They met one night through mutual music lovers and soon discovered a common love for telling tales through song. Their songs are sometimes familiar and representative of those we all know and love. Some are representative of the turbulent 1960’s and 1970’s. The majority are original words and melodies that express current and universal viewpoints to celebrate the adventure of life and to protest the ever-present failings and injustices of the human condition in the hopes that, through music, thoughtful contemplation can bring forth solutions.

  • Andy Brasher

    Andy Brasher

After returning to Kentucky, Andy released his first full length original album, “Crows and Buzzards” in 2007. Locally and even back in Nashville, the album was received well and now the demand for Andy to play his original music at shows had outweighed the requests for cover material. “Crows and Buzzards” began to sell online across the country and even overseas. As the music spread, requests came in for a tour. In the time following the release of “Crows and Buzzards”, Andy made his way along the east coast and throughout the south playing bars, dives, campgrounds, festivals, coffee houses and street corners.

In 2009, Andy and friend Dustin Bogue recorded ten of their songs and made an album and formed Brasher/Bogue. Brasher/Bogue started as a duet, but became a five piece band and started their touring career on Kenny Chesney's 2011 “Goin Coastal” tour. Years later, Brasher/Bogue has produced three albums of material, played large festivals and venues all over the U.S., and supported many top name national acts. In 2015, Andy refocused on a solo career, taking some time off from Brasher/Bogue and putting together a new incarnation of the Andy Brasher Band to play favorites from the Brasher/Bogue catalog as well as old and new Andy Brasher songs.

Andy's songs have been featured in film and media productions and can be heard on terrestrial, satellite and internet radio stations all across the US. With Brasher/Bogue and solo, Andy has performed concerts in support of many national acts including, Kid Rock, Kenny Chesney, Hank Williams Jr., Charlie Daniels Band and more... Andy has headlined shows all over the US and even internationally.

Andy is a frequent guest at many songwriter festivals here in the US, including the Frank Brown International Songwriter's Fest and Key West Songwriter's Fest.

  • Jason Wilber

    Jason Wilber

Jason Wilber's latest record, Reaction Time, plays like a solitary tour bus rolling steadfastly through the countryside under mysterious skies. It's the sound of long, hushed hours spent scribbling in notebooks, dreaming up gorgeously mournful melodies and cascading harmonies set against jangling guitars, the searching songs underpinned by persistent longing. Which all makes perfect sense. Wilber has spent the better part of the last 20 years gazing out at the world through the windows of planes, busses, cars and trains while on tour with country/folk icon John Prine.

"I was 26 when I started playing in John's band, and I'm 47 now — it's been my entire adult life," Wilber says. "At this point, John and his family, and the guys in the band, they're like family to me. I love them all, and I love working with them. When I look at what happens between John and an audience, I can't deconstruct it for you and explain exactly why it's so brilliant. But I can tell you that something amazing is happening. There's something about his music that touches people deeply. It's a special thing, and it's been a pleasure and a joy to get to be a part of it for so long."

In Wilber's multi-decade journey with Prine, the Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer has graced stages from the Grand Ole Opry to Austin City Limits, Seth Myers and Conan to Letterman and Colbert. And he's been a key player in high-profile collaborations with a host of legends including Lucinda Williams, Emmylou Harris, Alison Krauss, Todd Snider, Tom Russell, Miranda

  • Jonas Scott Cowan

    Jonas Scott Cowan

Jonas Cowan hails from Kentucky the son of a Baptist minister. Jonas was quickly schooled on stride piano, guitar, and gospel music by his father. Discovering Robert Johnson in his teen years, he found his inspiration. Jonas found a place to put his newly discovered passion, playing a role in forming 61 South, now a Western Kentucky Blues institution.

When an opportunity called in Evansville, IN Jonas relocated and continued his immersion into blues playing, jamming, and gaining esteem throughout the region. After several career misfires and substance abuse issues, Jonas literally got lost in the wilderness. Walking through Florida and Tennessee taking menial jobs and working construction, Jonas used his travels, observations and personal reflection as inspiration for songwriting and composing.

In 2013, Jonas decided to give the blues another shot and competed in the solo division of the IBC. He made it to Memphis, didn't place, but Beale Street was the last ingredient he needed to record his debut release "Been There."
